AT THE EPICENTRE OF VALUES, GOALS, AND HABITS WE FIND PERSONAL WHYS - THE KEY TO SUSTAINED PASSION.

Establishing personal whys isn't easy. In our experience, they are most often confused with core values, but can also be a tricky concept alongside traditional goal setting.

To help you along, we focus on the differences between drive, passion, and bliss and define each in the following way:

DRIVE

A feeling that pushes you to achieve more

PASSION

A feeling that pulls at you, tugs at your heart, and forces you to be present

BLISS

A feeling that evokes the highest levels of satisfaction, but cannot be sustained over a long period of time

Each of these words is associated with different pursuits and life moments:

DRIVE

VALUES, GOALS, HABITS, EMPLOYMENT, DESIRE TO SUCEED

PASSION

YOUR PERSONAL WHYS

BLISS

EUPHORIC MOMENTS, CELEBRATIONS, TRAVEL, VACATION, A PROMOTION

Passion can only be achieved over the long-term through identification and recognition of your personal whys. Consider these questions:

DRIVE

What do you feel obligated to do in life?

Who do you feel obligated to?

What currently pushes you out the door in the morning?

PASSION

When was the last time you worked on something where you felt totally immersed without any distraction?

What was the last experience you had in life that really took you away?  Away from the repetition of everyday life?

Can you think of the last time where your mind was absent of thought?  Where you were totally

consumed by the moment?  What were you doing?

BLISS

Travel and/or time away often evokes feelings of bliss.  Where was your last trip? What specific moments were most vivid?  When were you happiest?

How long did this feeling last after that moment?  After you returned from the trip?

Would the moment have been as rewarding if it occurred for a few more days?  weeks?  years?
